Distractions

This week has been more than ordinarily full of distractions.  The Olympics, some doctors (and an upcoming root canal, yay), and obsessively tracking my free download stats instead of writing anything new. I signed up for the August session of NaNoWriMo, but I’ve already abandoned all hope in favor of watching TV every night from 8 to midnight.

I think that’s okay.  I love watching the Olympics, which may seem odd to anyone who knows how little I generally care about sports.  But there really are some amazing moments: all that heartbreak and triumph and effort and dedication.   I’m not usually a very soppy person, but you really can’t help it, can you?  I can’t.

And next week, I’ll be in Montreal with my sister, so absolutely nothing is going to get done.  But when I get back…I’m so going to power through another couple of chapters.  I promise.  I do.

In the meantime, I’ve had over 300 downloads in the past week, which puts my readership well over 1000.  And I’ve stayed on the top 100 chart the whole time (even if I’m down in the 70’s at the moment), which is pretty great.

So if I’m absent for a while, don’t panic.  I’m really only going to Canada in order to get myself a new batch of pictures to use for my posts, so it’s all about you guys.  So here’s to a good trip, and some swift and painless dental work.  See you guys in a while.
